How does Addison express his modest attitude?

/Why do you think Addison has chosen to write?

Addison says that, reading his biography people will come to know that he is not unqualified for the given task of writing and for the social reformation.

Addison is resolved to write until he dies. He has chosen writing as a weapon to improve the society and help his contemporaries by the knowledge he possesses. He mentions that his writings are 'sheet-full of thoughts' which people have to tolerate. He does not want to reveal his identity because he does not want to be biased. He also wants to talk about all the general people and the friends who have influenced his writing. He has never been part of any violence and he tries to be neutral. So, by giving account of his purpose behind writing, he becomes modest.
